Overview 2.0
is a program organized by the
Studio of Young Photographers
, which brings together
young and talented photographers
and curators at the beginning of their careers to c
ollaborate in the making of exhibitions
. Launched for the second time, Overview helps artists and curators gain
professional experience
, as well as inspires
fruitful discussions
on the genre of
contemporary photography
. Seven Budapest-based galleries participate in the program this year, hosting 7 exhibitions featuring 11 artists altogether.
The exhibition focuses on the
relationship of nature and people in urban environments
. The works of
Márk Martinkó
and
Sári Zagyvai
point out how the
virtual
and
artificial environments
have become the essential part of our life. The exhibited photographs, made with
various techniques
show
scenes from nature
, yet many times only
some traces of nature
are recognizable. The
photomontages
of Zagyvai and the
photos and videos
of Martinkó clearly demonstrate that
virtualised nature
only represents a copy of the reality and
cannot show the real world
itself.
