An artist who enjoys a
special relationship with Müpa Budapest, Olivier Latry played the now
world-famous organ at the inauguration of the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall,
and also took part in the event to mark its tenth anniversary. This French organist
gives some 300 concerts a year, with a special performance lined up for his
Budapest audience this month. A teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris, his
repertoire ranging from Baroque to Romantic and encompassing the complete works
by Olivier Messiaen, Latry was also the organist at Notre-Dame before a
tragic fire swept through the church in 2019.
