Nemzeti Vágta
(
National Gallop
) is a grand horse race around the monuments of Heroes' Square, with riders dressed as Hungarian hussars in a proud display of Hungarian traditions, which is now a popular national cultural event.
At the gallop, horses and riders entered by different Hungarian settlements compete on September 20 and 21, while a nearby street fair offers regional foods and information about various areas of the country.
