The Viennese version of
Don Giovanni
ends with everyone singing about their hopes and how happy they are that evil has been destroyed – except for Leporello, who is annoyed that he needs to look for a new job now. Curtain.

It is after all this that our story begins. Leporello has found a job, which is acting out his boss’ story with puppets. We can hear it all from an eyewitness, who doesn’t hold back or leave anything out.
The script was produced in 2005 for a Zsámbék production of
Balázs Simon
. The finger puppet opera is a thorough reinterpretation of this show.

You most probably know the name of
Miklós Paizs
from the Hungarian popular underground scene because he’s been a member of the band
Korai Öröm
for 20 years, he was a founding member (and stayed with the band under the name
Secretman
until the first album came out) of Bëlga and he is currently the frontman of
Sickratman
. His poems and prosaic works have recently been published in the literary journal Hévíz, and he is a member of Budapesti Anarchista Színház (Budapest Anarchist Theatre). You can find his book Odüsszeiász (by Jaffa kiadó) and his record A nagy Én in various stores.
