MAO – Legendary Albums / Horace Silver: Song for My Father

On 11 February, the Legendary Albums series by the Modern Art Orchestra will be presenting the work of one of the greatest mainstream hard-bop pianists, Horace Silver. As music expert Steve Huey says, about Silver’s signature LP, Song for My Father, “Silver was always a master at balancing jumping rhythms with complex harmonies for a unique blend of earthiness and sophistication. Song for My Father has perhaps the most sophisticated air of all his albums”.
