Judit Reigl was a renowned Hungarian painter, who escaped the country to France after eight previous unsuccessful attempts, and finally settled in Paris to become part of one of the most vibrant cultural hubs in the world. Today, her works can be seen at museums such as MoMa, the Metropolitan and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Pompidou and the Tate Modern – just to mention a few.

In the ’50s, her abstract paintings gained her a lot of attention. However, she only reached a wider level of popularity in 2005, after the age of 80, when her first retrospective exhibition was held at the Kálmán Makláry Fine Arts Gallery. From this point on, her art was discovered internationally, with several exhibition venues in Hungary and abroad showing her work.
