Hungarian rock band, Hollywoodoo, were one of the most influential of the 1990s and the 2000s, performing at major festivals and clubs throughout the country. Besides releasing tracks and making videos, they also wrote music for film, and were regulars on radio and TV. Frontman Gergő Trócsányi had a radio show at Sziget TV, and apart from writing lyrics and giving interviews, he starred in short movies and feature films. He landed the main role in hit movie, Taxidermia, by Hungarian director György Pálfi, and his performance received acclaim by the Hungarian Journalists' Association. In 2007, the track Erdő won Voxcar Magazine's prize for Best Hungarian Film Song. In 2009, they were forced to rest, due to the serious illness of their lead singer – the band stayed together but played significantly less gigs. Gergő also received a PRIMA award in 2013. He slowly overcame his disease, and revived Hollywoodoo. During the spring of 2016, they gave concerts in London and Dublin. Their album titled Végre was released in 2017.
