This classic 1979 anti-war, drama-musical was based on the Broadway musical Hair: An American Tribal Love-Rock Musical about a Vietnam War draftee who meets and befriends a tribe of hippies on his way to the army induction centre. They proceed to introduce him to marijuana and LSD, and to their environment of unorthodox relationships and draft evasion, taking audiences back into the age of yearning for freedom, love and unbreakable joy.
