On 29 August, the Generali - OWT Danube Crossing invites participants to swim across the Danube in the heart of Budapest. Organised by the Open Water Tournament, the event follows a 500-metre route from Pest to Buda, starting at the embankment in front of Corvinus University of Budapest and finishing at the event centre outside Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Held during a full river closure, the crossing offers swimmers the chance to enjoy unique views of Liberty Bridge while taking on water temperatures of around 23°C. Registration is required in advance, with participation limited to 1,000 swimmers.
