Director Sasha Waters Freyer’s intimate portrait of acclaimed photographer Garry Winogrand is one of the most talked-about documentaries of 2018, and Budapest’s Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center is providing an exclusive opportunity to watch this award-winning film before its official cinema release. During the turbulent times from the 1960s to the 1980s, Garry Winogrand wandered across America capturing images of iconic settings ranging from fervent urban demonstrations to placid suburbia. “All Things are Photographable” includes rare footage from Winogrand’s home movies, audio recordings of his musings on life with a friend at a Texas diner, and key selections from the photographer’s voluminous oeuvre to provide revealing perspectives on 20th-century America. This 90-minute documentary will be screened at the Capa Center with its original English-language audio and Hungarian subtitles at 7pm on September 17th and 18th – see the Facebook event info or the Capa Center website for more details.
