András Zalavári has been exploring the potentials of perspective and experimental imaging for a long time. His contribution to Inverse, a group exhibition organised at Kisterem in 2015, already dealt with this topic, namely the possibilities to manipulate linear and inverse (Byzantine) perspectives.

At his first solo exhibition, Zalavári presents works that likewise do not follow the natural rules of perspective, but focus on different elements of the principles of perception. Therefore, psychological phenomena become the central organising principles of each image, such as the consistency of size and shape.

In the exhibited works, you can find familiar spaces – Lake Balaton or a corridor at Keleti station – but using an algorithm created by the artist, the thousands of images are rearranged to form unique scenes.
