Between 23 and 29 March at the Toldi Cinema, the eighth annual Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival showcases the best short films from the past year. As well as screening the latest examples from Hungary and abroad, the festival aims to create a professional forum where filmmakers looking for feedback and dialogue can present their works to a wider audience. Ten films by female directors, and 17 international shorts, three of them Oscar-nominated, will all be shown. The most important themes this year are parent-child relationships, existentialism and surreal visions, and the lives of women.
