Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave, Shame, Prometheus) plays Frank, the frontman of the indie band The Soronprfbs in this unique musical comedy. Frank is an oddball even in music circles: he is only interested in creating the perfect sound, he’s looking for inspiration everywhere – and he wears a weird paper mask even while sleeping. All the members of Frank’s band are strongly against the mainstream pop music industry.
One day ambitious musician Jon joins the group (Domhnall Gleeson – About Time, Anna Karenina, Star Wars – Episode VII), thanks to an unexpected vacancy in the band. The group soon leaves civilisation behind by starting to experiment in a little cottage in the woods, trying to write the perfect album. This leads Jon to realise that a musician’s life is not exactly what he knew from the tabloid stories. Tension rises when the group starts to become successful on the internet and Jon tries to hook up with Frank’s hot bandmate, Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal – The Dark Knight, Hysteria, Secretary).
