An exhibition on Budapest’s infamous punk club Fekete Lyuk (‘Black Hole’) is being held at the Kiscelli Museum from 18 December. The concert venue used to provide a platform for underground, punk, rap and metal subcultures around the collapse of Communism. The bands who were banned by the government’s cultural ministry could perform here. Besides music, the place was also used by theatre companies, photographers, architects, fashion designers and other artists. The exhibition displays posters, photos, videos, clothes and other relics from the era.
