Wes Anderson at his finest, a good five years before The Grand Budapest Hotel. Adapting the Roald Dahl children's book, this stop-motion classic features the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray, and the music of the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones and Jarvis Cocker. The tale revolves around a cunning fox frustrated with family life who plans one last great raid of the henhouse. Guarding it is a deliciously evil rat, voiced by Wlllem Dafoe. This funny, fast-moving animation is screened in English with Hungarian subtitles at the inimitable Bem Cinema, worth a visit in its own right.
