If you are up for a day trip this weekend, hop on a train and go all the way to Lake Balaton. Kőröshegyi Lavender Field is an iconic spot for seeing a sea of (yeah, lavender too, but this time of the year:) tulips. Nearly half a million colourful stems dot the landscape, while Lake Balaton’s blue shimmers below, making it one of the most beautiful views of the south shore. And did we mention that you can actually pick tulips?
