The Czech Film Carnival returns to the Toldi Cinema this February. This time, the organisers will provide an online option, too, for those who can't get to the cinema. 2021 was a remarkably strong year for Czech filmmaking, much is expected at this showcase. Works often cover serious topics, such as fragile family relationships, the micromodel of a society sinking into deep trauma, the lives of misguided individuals afflicted by provincial morality, or the grey days of dictatorships. Films show with English and Hungarian subtitles. To read our interview with acclaimed Czech director Slávek Horák, see here.
