Since the publication of "T
he Rise of the Creative Class
" by

there has been a lot of attention to creative industries and their role in economic development. With Charles Landry's "The Creative City", the question of how creative industries influence urban development came to the fore. In the past years there has been a lot of research into the evolution of creative industries in Central Eastern Europe as well. KÉK's event, organized together with Aspen Institute Prague reviews this research and looks into the perspectives of creative industries, their impact on the city and their intersection with cultural strategies and financing schemes through the examples of Prague, Warsaw and Budapest.
