Cinema Niche is a series of screenings showcasing contemporary films not yet shown in Hungarian cinemas, with Hungarian subtitles – and, in this case, English and Spanish dialogue. Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Memoria debuted at Cannes in 2021, where it won the Jury Prize. Set in Colombia, it stars Tilda Swinton as a local expat trying to deal with a bizarre series of circumstances. One of the most versatile creators of Slow Cinema, Thai filmmaker Apichatpong has garnered widespread international recognition and numerous awards for previous works such as Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives and Cemetery of Splendour.
