On 7–8 February, the Chinatown Budapest hosts the Chinese New Year Festival, bringing two days of food, culture and spectacle to the city. Three Chinese cultural delegations will perform lion and dragon dances, kung fu shows, tai chi and qigong demonstrations, alongside acrobatic elements and fire performances, while two guest chefs from Chengdu prepare authentic Sichuan street food on site. Visitors can also try calligraphy and craft workshops, learn about the Chinese zodiac and join traditional games. Entry is free, with some programmes available for a small contribution.
