Bálint Szombathy is an acclaimed Hungarian multimedia artist and performer. He was awarded the Hungarian Order of Merit’s Knight’s Cross in 2018 in recognition of his role as a creator of and theoretical expert in contemporary Hungarian art.

Céline Struger, a multimedia sculptor and resident artist, was born in 1982 in Klagenfurt. She studied at the Vienna University of Applied Arts and Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. The versatile technique of Struger’s sculptural plastic art is heavily affected by certain early works of Szombathy, mainly by his studies of Budapest in the early 70s.

Struger is spending this summer in Budapest, after winning the scholarship of the Budapest Gallery international exchange programme. Using this opportunity, a joint exhibition is being organised by the artists.
