The Budapest Marathon Festival, one of the city’s biggest autumn running events, returns for its 41st edition on 10 and 11 October. Alongside the classic marathon, the weekend offers plenty of shorter distances, walks and urban hikes, with options for beginners, families and groups of friends. On Saturday, races range from 500 metres to 10 kilometres, while Sunday includes the 30-kilometre and full marathon distances, with the option to run individually, in pairs or as part of a relay team. The routes pass some of Budapest’s UNESCO World Heritage sites and iconic city views, with live music and cheering crowds adding to the atmosphere along the way.
