The Budapest Festival Orchestra (Budapesti Fesztiválzenekar) were formed in 1983 by Iván Fischer and Zoltán Kocsis, with players picked from the cream of Hungary's young musicians. The ensemble plays the Budapest Congress Centre on 26 December. The concept behind the event is that for the repertoire to be based on the choice of the audience. The video below shows BFO’s debut.
