A key player in Buda’s brunch scene, the Csalogány Street-based Cinnamon has come a long way since opening in 2017, evolving and renewing itself several times along the way. In autumn 2025, it closed its doors for a while - not as a farewell, but for a full-scale refresh that reimagined both the interior and the menu. The result is Bloom by Cinnamon, a renewed concept that brings fresh energy to a familiar favourite.

The team recognised that what felt unique in the late 2010s has become almost standard by 2026, with strong brunch spots now found across the city. To stay relevant for the years ahead, they rethought the concept. Bloom by Cinnamon is set to become more than just a brunch spot - evolving into an after-work meeting place with a strong natural wine selection and shareable tapas. There's also a greater focus on cocktails, alongside a move towards fermented drinks, offering lighter, alcohol-free options for early evening gatherings. With an expanded terrace catering to afternoon and evening guests, and a pastel-toned interior that enhances the relaxed atmosphere, the space is designed for slowing down and enjoying both the kitchen and the bar at your own pace.

Beyond egg-based breakfasts

The breakfast menu will be available until the afternoon, after which lighter small plates take over. During brunch hours, classics like three-egg sunny-side up, omelettes and scrambled eggs remain on the menu, served with fresh sourdough bread and vegetables. The pastries come from next door, supplied by Búzakovász Kézműves Pékség. Familiar favourites such as avocado toast (HUF 4,190) and classic Eggs Benedict (HUF 3,890 - 4,290) are also part of the offering, catering to those who prefer well-known flavours over experimentation. That said, brunch-goers often come for something beyond the most straightforward options.

We opted for the more inventive dishes - and weren't disappointed. The Bloom avo salmon Eggs Benedict (HUF 3,690) stood out as one of the most well-composed breakfasts we've tried recently. It draws loose inspiration from the Italian panzanella, with toasted sourdough cubes forming the base, topped not with tomatoes but with lettuce, avocado cream, poached egg, fresh avocado and salmon. Thin slices of cucumber infused with elderflower add a refreshing twist, while the hollandaise sauce and Bloom dressing bring everything together with just the right amount of richness. The presentation is also thoughtfully done, making it easy to enjoy neatly with a knife and fork.

Another favourite was the Bloom muffin (HUF 3,490), a similarly distinctive take on a brunch classic. Served on a soft English muffin, it features scrambled eggs with melted red cheddar, crispy bacon, avocado cream, tomato, toasted onion and a smoky sauce, accompanied by a fresh salad finished with a flavourful house dressing. It's a satisfying dish that still manages to feel light.

On the sweeter side, the light and airy tiramisu French toast (HUF 3,490) offers both a subtle caffeine boost and a quick fix for any sugar cravings. Made with soft brioche, it's layered with white chocolate cream, chocolate tuile, caramelised walnuts and a salted caramel espresso cream, reimagining the Italian classic in breakfast form. The American pancakes (HUF 3,390), a favourite carried over from the original Cinnamon, also remain on the menu at Bloom by Cinnamon. Served as a stack of four thick pancakes, they come topped with Nutella, seasonal fresh fruit and toasted honeyed nuts.

No breakfast is complete without coffee

The drinks menu caters to all tastes, whether you're in the mood for a mango matcha latte (HUF 1,990) or a refreshingly crisp espresso tonic (HUF 1,890). The coffee itself is currently a medium-light roast, offering a balanced, fruit-forward profile without overly sharp acidity.

House lemonades are available in several flavours, while a glass (or bottle) of prosecco or a Mimosa is just as fitting for the occasion. Time tends to pass quickly at the cosy tables, and even faster in the hanging chairs. With this refresh, Bloom by Cinnamon secures its place among Buda's go-to spots, offering an updated concept and menu that feel well-aligned with what the city's brunch scene now expects.
