The wall of the Mammut shopping centre, located along the tram 4/6 line in Buda, has just gotten some pizzazz! A massive painting depicting a lively market scene has appeared, and we think you should see it for yourself.

Budapest is famous for its painted murals, which have been popping up across downtown, particularly in the 7th district, over the past decade. Recently, a new part of town has been gifted with some extra colour: Enikő Váczy, a Budapest-based visual artist and art therapist, has created a lively market scene on concrete.

Wall paintings are her specialty, and you can stumble upon her creations across Europe. But her latest work is in Buda, more specifically on the wall of the Mammut shopping centre (Building I). This mural evokes the atmosphere of the neighbouring Fény utca Market, featuring a woman holding a filled shopping basket and a hen making an appearance. You can check it out yourself by hopping on tram 4/6 on the Grand Boulevard towards Széna tér. While you're there, pop into the market, and then have a pint at the nearby rooftop bar TETØ!
