Yesterday, Poor Things took home 7 BAFTAs out of 13 nominations, including the Best Actress award for Emma Stone and the Best Production Design. The latter is a huge deal also because Hungarian Zsuzsa Mihalek was part of the design team.

Oppenheimer dazzled at the BAFTA Film Awards in London yesterday. It was stealing the limelight with 7 awards, including Best Film, Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), and Best Director (Christopher Nolan). Not far behind, Poor Things secured a solid second place, winning 5 categories.

Production Design was one of them, bringing pride to Hungary as talented set decorator Zsuzsa Mihalek was part of the winning team, alongside Shona Heath and James Price. Poor Things, directed by Jórgosz Lánthimosz, also snatched the crown in the categories of Best Actress (Emma Stone), Best Costume Design, Best Make-Up & Hair, and Best Special Visual Effects. Filmed in Hungary, Poor Things boasts numerous Hungarian talents – you can spot 349 Hungarian names on the cast list. But behind the scenes, 600 local professionals supported the work of Pioneer Productions.
