A very special Christmas tree got dressed up on the first Sunday of Advent, December 3rd, as the pillars of Megyeri Bridge turned green for the holidays.
This is the third year Megyeri Bridge, Budapest's longest bridge at the North end of the city, has transformed into a gigantic Christmas tree for the festive season. The decorations were lit up on the first Sunday of Advent, December 3rd, and the pillars, adorned in green lights, will deck their crowning star from December 17 to 27. Special decorative lights will also be applied to the glass sections between the two pillars. Christmas enthusiasts can admire the country's largest Christmas tree (100 metres) from December 3rd to 31st.
When visiting the bridge, please bear in mind the following:
- Do not stop in the emergency lane or take photos while driving.
- Approach the bridge from Route 2 and safely reach the location through the area under the Pest side bridgehead, either on foot or by bicycle.
