A stone's throw away from Blaha Lujza tér, Art+ Cinema is a beloved spot for film lovers. After being shut for renovations, it reopens its gates today, new and shiny. What's more, they welcome cinema-goers back with a film week, Vertigo, inviting you to watch films before their premiers. You might need to do a little research to find the English-language ones, but The Old Oak, Exhibition on Screen: Raphael Revealed, or Hawaii, scheduled for Friday, are good places to start.
Apart from the general glow-up of the cinema (including the modernisation of the rooms), a new auditorium was also added, so now it operates with three rooms instead of the previous two. Also, the quality of the cinema experience has significantly improved.
Having multiple rooms will result in a more diverse film selection in the future. From film classics to contemporary art films, art history documentaries, family and youth films, and music-themed movie content, the cinema offers a wide range of programs for the audience. After Vertigo for example, a short film festival called BuSho kicks off on August 29th, which you can find more details about here.
