Reopened just in time for Children’s Day, the Transport Museum now features fascinating new vintage exhibits such as a classic Hungarian Ikarus bus of the post-war era, ZIM and Volga cars from the Soviet Union, and a Dragon airport fire engine from Germany. The exhibition can be found at the former Northern Vehicle Repair Shop in Kőbánya and runs until the end of September.
Following the success of last summer’s Once Upon a Time in the North exhibition at the Museum of Transport in Kőbánya, a sequel show has just been unveiled.
Spread over twice as much space, The Story Continues allows visitors to see the same exhibits as last year, old locomotives, motorbikes and a Formula V racing car, as well as the most recent introductions.
These include a Model-T Ford, a recently restored Ikarus bus, Soviet-made ZIM, Volga and Pobeda cars, and a MTB-82 trolleybus that once trundled around the streets of Budapest in the 1950s.
