Despite the raging heat, muralist László Brunszkó, aka Nikon, only needed six days to complete the second of two bright murals facing each other on Illés utca in Józsefváros, District VIII. Commissioned by the local municipality, the designs were chosen by local residents and show two birds – a sparrow and a black tit – relevant to an old Hungarian saying.
Part of the Magdolna-Orczy Quarter Social Urban Rehabilitation Programme, funded by the European Union, artists painted two firewalls on Illés utca. The graphic on the left was completed by the middle of June, and the one on the right has just been finished during the summer heatwave. Famed urban mural crew neopaint oversaw the whole project.
