As we reported in 2018, Ghraoui, one of the oldest merchant families in Damascus, opened on Andrássy út after the family fled the conflict.
Concocting confectionery since 1805, they have created a special collection for the presentation boxes being handed out at this month’s Cannes Film Festival. Among the delights is a candied apricot dessert stuffed with roasted pistachios from Aleppo, based on a 200-year-old family recipe.
