Elegant riverside FELIX Kitchen & Bar has just picked up the most prestigious Award of Excellence from globally influential American lifestyle magazine, Wine Spectator. With a readership of three million, the California-based publication grants industry prizes every August. WINESCAPE Budapest is another of the two Hungarian restaurants currently honoured.

Tamás Czinki, manager of the FELIX wine collection – the only Master Sommelier in Hungary – compiled his wine list using experience gained abroad, with a special emphasis on its international selection.

FELIX lists 500 wines, from Champagne, Burgundy and Piedmont, as well as a number from US and Australian producers.

International recognition

We are proud to receive such recognition from the international press… All I can say is that we will continue to work with our eyes open looking for the novelties worth noting in this industry…” – Tamás Czinki, FELIX.

The other award-winning restaurant is WINESCAPE Budapest, run by the staff of leading Hungarian magazine, BORIGO. Here, they focus primarily on Hungarian labels, but also include an exciting range of Italian and Spanish wines, which helped earn them the trophy.

Global labels, unique Tokaji

First of all, we choose the best quality Hungarian wines based on our own methods then we complete our selection with well-known foreign labels. We also keep a unique Tokaji Aszú wine collection, which can be found nowhere else in the world...” – Gábor Botond Bányai, owner and chief editor of BORIGO.
