Known throughout Germany for providing comfortable, convenient and affordable accommodation close to transport hubs, the IntercityHotel chain has now set up in Budapest. The location, alongside Keleti station, is ideal for the city centre and the nearby Puskás Aréna, where a full house is expected for football’s European Championships taking place in June.
The latest generation of IntercityHotel has just arrived in Budapest – right beside the city’s main train station, Keleti. Overseen by Frankfurt-based Deutsche Hospitality, nearly 50 hotels stretch across Central Europe, from Enschede to Vienna.
Every main German city has at least one, usually around the train station and/or airport. Convenience is the key here – guests are usually furnished with a city transport pass for the duration of their stay.
Built by Hamburg’s B&L Gruppe, which specialises in flagship stores and retail centres, the IntercityHotel Budapest is their first project in Hungary. Design comes courtesy of Milanese architect Matteo Thun, responsible for a new sleek look across the chain, with sustainability brought to the fore.
The IntercityHotel Budapest comprises 312 guest rooms, a restaurant, the BistroLounge & Bar and a conference area of five separate spaces. For those coming by car, there are 230 parking spaces and an e-charging station in the public underground garage.
Guests may also download the IntercityHotel app, which serves as a digital room key, allowing them to check in, check out and pay contactless.
