Once a successful street-food truck operation in Szentendre, Circo Pizza has just set up by the Opera House in Budapest, its classic Neapolitan varieties already winning over a good many customers in town.

It was Márk Takács and his family, successful bakers from Miskolc, north-east Hungary, who rolled their street-food van into Szentendre to offer Neapolitan-style pizzas. As they sold like hot cakes, they decided to move into Budapest, their fixed outlet located at a prime spot near the Opera House.

Circo Pizza sticks to its remit of providing Neapolitan-style pizzas (HUF 1,600-3,200), with nothing extra and nothing over-thought, just the best dough and quality ingredients on top.

The idea is to start serving pastries with breakfast coffee – Bagira light-roasted – from 9am, then pizzas from 11am. To accompany, there are natural wines from the Lees Brothers’ ever-expanding selection.
