Decorated in images of monkeys, the newly opened Mizaru Mambou café showcases the work of the Jane Goodall Institute, the Budapest branch of a global network housed at the Eötvös10 House of Culture. Britain’s pioneering primatologist has outposts of her research institute all over the world, dedicated to protecting chimpanzees as well as their habitat. Buying a coffee here also contributes to helping their wellbeing.

Mizaru Mambou may not be very big, but it’s perfect for a relaxed conversation with friends or reading time on your own. The coffees are, of course, first-class, Arabica, Italian and South-American. They are also available in a variety of packaging but drinking one here helps support chimpanzees to the tune of 50 forints.

You can also do this by buying a book or souvenir from the display case in one corner, as proceeds also go towards the work of the institute. Food includes excellent sandwiches and Moroccan vegetables.
