The Christmas market by St Stephen’s Basilica has just been chosen as the best in Europe for yet another year. In an online poll by travel portal European Best Destinations, the Advent fair in Budapest received almost 25,000 votes from 163 countries. Most people taking part came from the UK.
Of the 173,620 voters in a poll organised by European Best Destinations, most put Budapest’s Basilica Advent fair as their favourite Christmas market. This is the second time that the Basilica has topped the list, after its initial triumph in 2019.
Open until New Year’s Day, the Christmas market in Budapest’s city centre features 3D lights on the Basilica, a free ice rink, and almost 100 craft and food stalls.
