There will be plenty of exciting dance performances during the summer season, now in full swing at the National Dance Theatre and moving to an open-air stage between 14 and 22 July. From mysterious tango to rhythmic folk, and contemporary choreography to invigorating flamenco, the intimate sunset dance performances of TáncPark await everyone at the Millenáris.

The National Dance Theatre is organising its unique TáncPark series in Budapest again this year, between 14 and 22 July with shows, group dance tuition and performances both light and unrepeatable in the warm glow of sunset.

One of the buzzwords of TáncPark is #kövesdaritmust (‘Follow da rhythm’): in the evenings, you can not only enjoy culture, but also look forward to interactive events, becoming familiar with different dances and steps with the help of professional dancers.

The agenda for TáncPark 2021 opens with a refreshing, passionate ballroom dance cocktail. Tango Magic + Argentine Tango entice spectators with a bohemian milonga, a swirling waltz and a magical tango.

The next day, there will be no less fizz when the energy of Hungarian dance fills the park. The artists of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble and its band showcase the typical steps of the Satu Mare region.

There’s plenty to look forward to over the eight days, in fact: János Feledi - Feledi Project take to the stage under the open sky, evoking the world of Béla Bartók's music and folklore, together with the Oláh Dezső Trio. Dance connoisseurs will not feel left out either; on one of the evenings, they can watch the performance of the artists in Varidance – Bartók Dance Theatre entitled Hungarian DanceRAPsody.

The Elemér Muharay Folk Art Association will not only bring the steps of Hungarian folk dance to this year's TáncPark, they will also treat the audience to a folk-costume presentation. And, in the name of fun and relaxation, this is also the premiere of the PR-Evolution Dance Company's An Evening Cocktail, an unusual outdoor performance.

The Duna Art Ensemble are not left out of this diverse cavalcade of performers either, as they will be evoking Bartók, the traditions of dance and Hungary’s common heritage in a production co-written with the Saint Ephrem Male Choir.

TáncPark also take you to exotic landscapes: the dance images of TalaMantra show the world of Indian stage dance. Finally, the vivacious rhythm of Caminos by the FlamenCorazónArte Dance Theatre will let the audience's imagination stray from the steps of flamenco into the unknown.

Tickets and admission

Tickets for TáncPark evenings can be bought online or in person at the ticket office at the reopened National Dance Theatre before each performance. The NDT pays special attention to the health of its spectators and artists by following the pandemic rules, so all spectators must carry an Immunity Certificate and audiences will be limited. TáncPark will not be postponed because of bad weather, as on rainy days, the Main Auditorium awaits audiences arriving for this summer series.
