Mystery surrounded the fate of one of Budapest’s liveliest party places, Pontoon, given the long shutdown and major renovation to Chain Bridge, closing the city’s most revered crossing for 18 months. Now the Pontoon people have just announced they will be opening this week, on Thursday, 1 July, on board a boat alongside the bridge, pretty much where they used to operate until a couple of years ago.
Promising an urban hideaway and beach, plus moonlight parties – with more details to follow – celebrated nightspot Pontoon reopens this week, just in time to catch those magical summer sunsets. DJs, yoga and late-night carousing are guaranteed.
