In the quietest and prettiest corner of City Park, the recently unveiled Mihály Mőcsényi Botanical Garden now has another family-friendly feature. Piknik Kert, the Picnic Garden, has just opened, offering snacks, drinks and even classic picnic baskets you can hire.

surroundings, an oasis of peace and relaxation.
This alfresco outlet may also
cater to sportsmen using the running track nearby, with athlete-friendly
booster drinks such as collagen-enhanced forest-fruit smoothies, protein
shakes with cocoa beans and raspberry smoothies (all 990 HUF) on offer.
The less active can choose from the the selection of lemonades (690-790 HUF) – the melon-cucumber variety particularly recommended – plus homemade cordials (590 HUF), iced teas (690 HUF) and alcoholic drinks.
The food menu is also healthy, salads (from 1,690 HUF) come with grilled gomolya cheese or chicken, while dips (1,990 HUF) and tortillas are also available in vegetarian varieties (1890-2190 HUF). You can even bring your own food, rent a picnic basket and spread out your delights elsewhere, making sure to bring the basket back afterwards.
As summer rolls on, small concerts, DJ sessions and films are also planned. All is easily accessible by trolleybus 74 and 75 from Astoria and Jászai Mari tér, alighting at Zichy Géza utca on Ajtósi Dürer sor.
