This Sunday, 30 May, the twin main downtown squares of Erzsébet tér and Deák Ferenc tér will be transformed into a giant outdoor market. Live music, children’s games, workshops and fine delicacies will also be laid on, as visitors browse the vintage clothes, cosmetics and designer artefacts. Proceedings start at 11am and run all day until 7pm.

Budapest’s most popular community markets have combined to create a one-day jamboree of entertainment and shopping. Market Day is being hosted in the heart of town on Sunday, 30 May, and showcases the best of Hungarian gastronomy and niche design.

Children’s activities, craft workshops and live bands accompany the event, bookended by a brass band. The accent is on environmentally friendly products and those made by children of the Nem Adom Fel foundation for the disadvantaged. Admission is free.

Immunity Certificates are not required but standard pandemic restrictions may apply. See the Facebook event page for details.
