Right in the heart of Budapest’s bar district, a new nightspot now due to open on 20 May has a somewhat unusual location. The courtyard of the Electrotechnical Museum, aka Tesla, is where the team from party series Botellón will set up a summer-long happening of the same name.
Botellón is taken from the Spanish concept of a BYOB gathering. The local iteration, Botellón Budapest have already organised a number of parties, on Liberty Bridge, at Citadella, in City Park, even on top of the Tunnel by Chain Bridge.
This time, the location is the courtyard of the Electrotechnical Museum, surrounded by retro neon, traditionally illuminated for Night of the Museums around 21 June.
After the opening party, Botellón should be in place all summer, organising all kinds of events. The BYOB concept remains, but guests must decant their drinks into the environmentally friendly Repohár glasses provided.
