As just announced by Mr Gergely Gulyás, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, the current pandemic restrictions will stay in place until 15 March at least. Introduced last November, the measures include a curfew from 8pm to 5am, and the closure of bars, cafés and restaurants except for takeaway or home-delivery services.
According to the minister, experts have underlined that the third wave of the epidemic has reached Hungary, and the numbers related to the virus may worsen dramatically in the next week or two.
Mutations of the virus have appeared in Hungary and are spreading significantly faster than before. At the same time, the minister was keen to point out that the vaccines now available in Hungary should protect against them all.
