Just opened to the public, the new passenger pier at Budapest Airport will increase comfort significantly as travellers wait by the gates for their flights. Construction of the new facility began a year ago and the work was completed in June, the necessary permits now in place. This sleek, contemporary feature replaces the much-maligned waiting area now consigned to history.

Some 2,500 seats, and food and drink outlets await passengers at the new pier, with more shops due to open soon. Eight departure gates open directly to the aircraft stands, making boarding more convenient, with six additional ones allowing travellers to connect with more distant planes.

The new area also links with Terminal 2A, so there is no need to leave the building after check-in and security have taken place.
