Budapest Airport is now carrying out mandatory temperature measurements on all passengers coming into Hungary, screenings undertaken by a medical service provider. While still very much in operation for vital cargo flights, the airport has seen a 98% drop in passenger traffic. Only Hungarian citizens and passengers from the EEA (EU, Switzerland and Norway) carrying permanent residence cards are now entitled to enter the country.

With Budapest Airport now only serving a handful of passenger flights per day compared to 150-200 previously, mandatory temperature measurements are being carried out on all travellers coming into the country by air.

Certain areas of the airport, including the departure level and arrivals corridor in Pier B, and the duty-free shop, are now closed until further notice.
