Kornél Mundruczó is an award-winning Hungarian actor and director, and his first English-language film, 'Pieces of a Woman', is coming to Netflix. Acclaimed at the Venice Film Festival, this drama depicting love and loss was co-produced by Martin Scorsese.

The film will screen first in a handful of American cinemas, after which it will head to Netflix on 7 January.

Pieces of a Woman is the story of a young couple trying to process the loss of their baby, who died during childbirth at home. The lead roles include Vanessa Kirby, Shia LaBeouf, Ellen Burstyn and Molly Parker, with none other than Martin Scorsese as one of the movie’s producers.

The film performed well at the prestigious Venice Film Festival, where it received two awards: Vanessa Kirby won Best Actress, and a student jury judged Mundruczó’s work as the best film of this year’s productions.
