The idea came from the owner of Oinos, Matteo Missoni. For every five pizzas ordered by customers, a sixth will go to the hospital, to benefit staff members. “He is a very kind and generous man,” says restaurant manager Tamas Ujvari. “He likes to support those who are in need.”
The restaurant began delivering pizzas to the Semmelweis Hospital last Thursday, and will continue the effort through Wednesday.

Oinos made the decision to close their physical restaurant due to the pandemic, but have been diligently delivering pizzas around the city via NetPincer and Wolt. Residents of District VIII – where the restaurant is located – get free home delivery via the restaurant’s own service. After every five pizzas ordered, a sixth will be donated. Already Oinos have delivered 40 pizzas each day to grateful doctors and nurses.
An additional option has also been added, called Pizza for Hospitals, for an extra 1,000 forints. Money collected from these donations will be given to Szent László Hospital, which is the first quarantine facility in Budapest.
Orders can be placed online via Wolt, NetPincer and, for District VIII delivery, the Oinos website.
