Burger, because beautiful bun-patty combos are the focus here – inspired by study trips to Tel Aviv and Amsterdam – and Market, because just like at a market, you can choose what goes into your bun from the selection of fresh ingredients. The owners taught themselves – they learned to be baristas when needed, while last year they moved their Burger Market food truck from festival to festival, eventually winning an award for the best Food Truck at the Hungarian Street Food Awards. That van is now set up at Budapest Park.

Anyone can take their pick: there are burgers available in two sizes, various meats (Angus, beef and chicken), meat-free options (vegetarian and vegan), buns (gluten-free and wholegrain) and a selection of homemade sauces. Sides include sweet potatoes, coleslaw, market salad and chips. There is a monthly chef’s offer to ease your choice, and you’re always welcome to be creative.

Beyond burgers, breakfasts (with new-wave or classic coffee), pastas and burritos are also available. The Mexican selection was created by a lady Mexican to the bone, so you can count on authentic flavours.

The interior is cool, providing a pleasant place to spend time, be it at breakfast, lunch or dinner. The slightly industrial atmosphere is sometimes enhanced with live music, while a kid’s corner keeps little ones occupied.

A bigger Burger Market awaits on central Király utca, while a newly opened little brother now features on Erzsébet körút.
