Nowadays people tend to forget to enjoy the days leading up to Christmas. They are rather seen as a line of hurdles we need to overcome, until we finally get to slow down and celebrate the magical season. Liz and Chain intends to change this attitude by offering themed days to fill all of December with joy and special flavours. There will be desserts, hot drinks and classic warm treats for everyone, even on the last day of the year.
Tea party in Wonderland
Cold days call for hot drinks. This elegant yet informal bar treats visitors between 1 November and 20 December to a special edition afternoon high tea with French pastries, finger sandwiches, scones, a selection of home-made jams, clotted cream, tea and sparkling wine. The multitude of sparkling and soul warming drinks can be enjoyed every day from 12.30am to 4pm, for 8,400 forints for two.
Mulled wine and kenyérlángos
Winter and mulled wine go hand in hand. As soon as the first snowflake falls, it is almost essential to befriend this sweet and soulful drink, which not only lifts the spirit, but can warm you up from head to toe. Liz and Chain has created a combination of three different mulled wines with a slab of the traditional kenyérlángos (potato bread) served with different toppings. The entire meal (1,800 HUF) is served every day between 5.30pm to 11pm, until 20 December.
Chimney cake
Mark 20 December in your calendar, as this is the last time this year to taste one of Liz and Chain’s versions of the classic Hungarian dessert, kürtőskalács (chimney cake), home-made by their chefs. One portion is 2,000 forints, available in the afternoons from 2pm to 8pm.
New Year’s snacks
The last hours of the year will be filled with heavenly delicacies at Liz and Chain. Among the abundance of snacks and a tapas buffet, guests will be treated to unlimited soft-drink consumption and two glasses of champagne. The event starting at 6pm and running until 9pm lets visitors marvel at the most outstanding view of the city, in a cosy and atmospheric environment. Admission is 10,000 forints per person.
New Year’s Eve Party
The year can only be complete with Liz and Chain’s New Year’s party. A classy yet friendly atmosphere adds to this unique experience, with cocktails and a true club vibe from 10pm until the dawn of next year.
