National Polish carrier LOT has just announced direct flights from Budapest to Dubrovnik in Croatia and Varna in Bulgaria. Despite the obvious demand, there have long been no direct air links from the Hungarian capital to Dalmatia. Holidaymakers have either had to go by car, bus or train – or fly from nearby Vienna.
With no national Hungarian carrier, Poland’s LOT has been scooping up prime routes from Budapest, including New York, London City and Seoul. Now Dubrovnik and Varna have just been added to the list for 2020.
Dubrovnik flights start on 7 June and run every Sunday until 27 September.
LOT has also opened a new business lounge at Terminal 2B at Budapest Airport, the only national carrier to do so.
