From hotshot pioneers like the UK's BrewDog and Magic Rock Brewing or Denmark's To Øl, to famed local producers such as Hungary's MONYO and Mad Scientist, are all among the 60 breweries that will be represented at Budapest Beer Week. As the patron of the festival is British Ambassador to Hungary, Iain Lindsay, the special guests this year will be breweries from the UK. As the motto says, Craft is Great!
Over six days, the city's best craft-beer bars fill with the finest ales and host tap takeovers and meet-the-brewer events. The festival climaxes on 24-25 May at the Dürer Kert, where all-you-can-drink sessions and live music await, and the most iconic figures from the industry gather.
A special festival beer, created from a collaboration between 11 Hungarian breweries, premieres on 20 May and will be available at all of the top brew venues in Budapest. Tickets for the festival are already available – click here for more details.
